A friend invited me to Talpona beach, offering the perfect opportunity to try a highly recommended place called Zest Cafe.
The cafe’s location is right on the beach, offering an incredible view. The beach itself is beautiful, complemented by a great atmosphere and relaxing background music.
After enjoying the stunning beach, we headed to the cafe, which was quite busy. It took a moment to secure a table.
The menu at Zest Cafe is intriguing, featuring a variety of unique dishes not commonly found in the area. I started with the golden latte, a turmeric latte similar to the one in Bibhitaki with several additions.
It was exceptionally rich, creamy, and thick, with the vanilla flavor enhancing the coconut milk, setting the stage for a high-quality experience.
Next, I ordered a grilled cheese kimchi toast and a jackfruit wrap.
The kimchi toast was served on a large piece of bread with spicy tomato sauce and a generous amount of cheese.
It was delicious, though it could have been served hotter for a more stretchy cheese texture. The delay in serving it alongside the other dish was a minor drawback.
The jackfruit wrap, served with chutney, was not as spicy as anticipated, or perhaps I’ve become accustomed to spiciness. Regardless, it was delightful.
The chutney was a bit oily, likely coconut oil, and the jackfruit was new to me but enjoyable. The wrap, being gluten-free, was surprisingly delicious.
The Wi-Fi is impressive, with speeds around 80Mbps. While not the most comfortable place for working on a computer, the view is a definite plus. However, the lack of power outlets is a downside.
I plan to return to try other dishes and a dessert. While Zest Cafe might not be ideal for nomads needing extended work sessions, it’s definitely worth a visit, especially for a shorter work period coupled with enjoying the scenery.
