I’ve visited Sea View restaurant a few times, initially drawn in by a recommendation from someone who left India around the time I arrived. They mentioned it was a nice place to sit with good food. I found myself returning due to the friendly and welcoming staff, and the food is indeed quite tasty.
On my latest visit, I had hoped for the tandoori, but since it’s only available after 6pm, I opted for the butter chicken and decided to try the cheese garlic naan, which turned out to be an excellent decision.
The butter gravy was delicious, rich, and not too spicy, but the chicken was somewhat dry, which was unexpected given it was drenched in gravy. However, the cheese garlic naan was a standout. It was so good that I’d rank it second only to Siona’s, which remains unbeaten in my book.
For midway dessert, I chose a Strawberry lassi, as they don’t offer other desserts. It was impressively thick, a quality I particularly enjoy, as lassis are often too runny at other places. This consistency made it more satisfying.
I recalled being pleasantly surprised by the thickness of the mango lassi during a previous visit, and I’m glad to find the quality consistent with their other lassi offerings.
After 6pm, I decided to sample their tandoori offerings and ordered a Chicken malai kebab. Unfortunately, it was a letdown. I had expected some kind of sauce or a juicier texture, typical of tandoori chicken, but it was rather plain and lacked the anticipated moisture.
The Wi-Fi at Sea View is adequate, offering speeds of around 20-30Mbps. There’s only one spot with a power outlet, but the seating is comfortable. Despite these amenities, it’s not the most ideal location for nomads looking to work.
Overall, Sea View is a decent place to visit, mainly for its amiable staff, but the food offerings, while good, aren’t particularly standout.
