While en route to another restaurant, I stumbled upon Fern’s by Kate’s and was intrigued by the pork chops listed on the menu outside. I’ve always been drawn to places that serve pork chops.
Upon entering, I found the place empty but charming, with a cozy wooden interior that felt upscale. The staff were exceptionally welcoming.
I chose to sit near the bar for slightly better Wi-Fi, though it reached only 10Mbps. Despite this, the seating was extremely comfortable, and every table had a fan overhead. Additionally, two air conditioners were present but not in use during my visit.
I started with the pork chops, served with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. The presentation was appealing, featuring one large and one smaller piece.
both Pork Chops pieces were juicy and well-prepared. The mashed potatoes were notably delicious, making me glad to have discovered this spot.
Engaging with the staff, possibly the owner, I inquired about her recommendations. After expressing my interest in the malai kofta and questioning if it contained cheese-filled potato koftas and gravy, she affirmed its quality.
I momentarily considered a meat dish, but she recommended the butter chicken, a favorite of mine, so I opted for that with two butter rotis. I mentally noted to return for the malai kofta and perhaps a mutton dish.
the butter chicken came, a few moments later also the butter roti, they both looked great. The Roti was thin and tasty, had a good taste of the tandoori and was even good by itself (i never enjoy bread with nothing 🙂
the butter chicken was really good, the gravy was a bit thick with a subtle rich taste. the chicken was made well as well. loved this dish.
For dessert, I chose the strawberry lassi, which turned out to be the best lassi I’ve ever had. Like my previous experience at Shiv Sai, it was served cold, but what set this one apart was its thickness – exactly how I believe a lassi should be, And it laster forever 🙂
My visit to Fern’s by Kate’s was thoroughly enjoyable, from the comfortable seating and excellent food to the low-volume, poppy background music contributing to the peaceful and classy atmosphere.
The only drawback was the slow Wi-Fi, but it was manageable.
