A good friend recommended Goa’s Ark in Anjuna, knowing I’m a big fan of meat dishes. It’s an Israeli restaurant, owned by an Israeli chef.
This place really stands out because of its atmosphere, set in a lovely garden away from the main road, and it plays really good chill background music.
What sets it apart is its menu, offering a variety of Mediterranean dishes, quite different from what you find in other Goa restaurants.
The Wi-Fi is decent here, with speeds of about 35Mbps. Although there are plenty of plugs, the tables are a bit too high when you’re working on a laptop, but overall, it’s quite comfortable.
The menu had many dishes that caught my eye, like the Aged Beef Fillet Mignon and hummus with minced beef – a dish I love back in Israel.
Naturally, I opted for the Ark beef burger, adding gouda cheese, which also came with fries.
It was served quickly and looked appetizing. It seems they top it with caramelized onions. I asked for some mayonnaise on the side, which they provided, and thankfully, it was of much better quality than what you usually get.
The fries were straightforward but generous in portion.
As for the burger, like with other places in India, the meat wasn’t as juicy as you’d expect, but the patty was quite good, crispy on the outside.
The real game-changer was the caramelized onions; they were excellently prepared and really enhanced the burger, especially combined with the gouda cheese, making it delicious.
I then ordered a fresh juice blend of pomegranate and pineapple, which was both good and refreshing.
Following that, I decided to try the chef’s special cheesecake, priced at a steep 350 rupees, expecting it to be impressive.
The cheesecake slice was large, easily enough for two people. Wow, it was delicious – very rich, with fantastic crumbs. It’s exactly the type of cheesecake I adore and definitely worth the price.
To sum up, Goa’s Ark offers great food and a wonderful atmosphere. It might not be the most comfortable spot for an extended work session, but it’s more than adequate for a few hours.
