Shiv Sai

After encountering poor or non-existent internet in other restaurants I intended to visit, I ended up at Shiv Sai, conveniently located nearby. Upon testing, the Wi-Fi ranged between 30 and 60Mbps, which sufficed for my needs.

A functioning ventilator overhead and several spots near power outlets made for a comfortable setting, although the chairs’ very straight backrests left me uncertain about their long-term comfort.

The staff was accommodating and patient as I chose a suitable place to sit, promptly providing the menu and Wi-Fi password without rushing me to order.

I began with just half a tandoori chicken. Surprisingly, the portion was generous, offering more pieces than typically expected for “half” a chicken.

The chicken was juicy and soft, accompanied by a tasty sauce and good fries. A nomad friend joined me mid-meal, sampling the chicken and sharing my positive impression.

Afterward, we worked for another hour, during which we ordered a GLH (Ginger Lemon Honey) for her and a Strawberry Lassi for me. The lassi was exceptionally refreshing and notably cold, a first for me.

Continuing, I opted for the Malai Kofta with cheese garlic naan, while my friend chose the Thali. The naan struck a perfect balance between thin and thick, with discernable cheese and garlic flavors.

However, the malai kofta, served in a white gravy, was merely satisfactory. The dish’s downfall was the koftas, made entirely from potatoes without any cheese, diminishing its appeal.

I wouldn’t recommend this particular dish here, though my friend found the Thali to be very good.

Eager to sample the ‘Hello to the Queendessert, I noticed its promising presentation. It featured ample chocolate over biscuits and two generous scoops of ice cream, a pleasant surprise compared to the norm.

The initial taste was delightful, but the lack of chocolate throughout and its mediocre quality were drawbacks. While the bananas were merely hot without caramelization, the biscuits and ice cream were excellent.

Shiv Sai proved to be an ideal workspace, offering comfort, friendly staff, and overall good food, with the exception of the malai kofta. The past two days’ service issues elsewhere made Shiv Sai’s welcoming atmosphere particularly appreciated.
